Hollywood Summer Nights this Week at the Ambler Theater

This Week at the Ambler Theater, there are two great movies playing as part of the theater’s Hollywood Summer Nights program.

On Wednesday, August 24th, at 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm, the theater is showing From Here to Eternity, 1953’s Tour de Force featuring Burt Lancaster, Frank Sinatra (Best Supporting Actor), Montgomery Clift and Donna Reed.

From the Ambler Theater Website:

A star-studded classic wartime romance, based on the best-selling novel by James Jones, FROM HERE TO ETERNITY chronicles the lives and loves of three US soldiers stationed in Hawaii on the eve of World War II. Winner of eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Not to be outdone, on Thursday, August 25th, at 7 pm, the theater is showing the Alfred Hitchcock classic, Dial M for Murder, in 3D!

Once again, from the Ambler Theater Website:

Warners demanded that Hitchcock make this film using the new 3D technology, which was all the rage in 1954. And Hitch did not disappoint with his inventive use of 3D style. The plot is a masterpiece of double-cross and intrigue about a man who concocts a plan to kill his wife. With Grace Kelly, Ray Milland, and Robert Cummings.

Two awesome flicks! Thanks Ambler Theater!
