Maple Sugaring Festival

On Sunday, February 26th, join the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association for their 2017 Maple Sugaring Festival. The event is from Noon to 3 pm.

From the WVWA:

Learn how maple syrup and sugar are made – a delicious and fun way to make science come alive! WVWA offers a very special winter event that is ideal for families, scout groups and anyone curious about the maple sugar process. Guides take small groups through the woods to see the tapped trees and then watch it being boiled into sugar. End your walk at WVWA’s historic headquarters for hot chocolate and warm treats with maple syrup. Tours last approximately 45 minutes. Last tour leaves at 3:00 p.m.

The tours begin at the Green Ribbon Trail entrance on Butler Avenue in Ambler. Be sure to wear sturdy clothes and shoes or boots meant for cold weather and the outdoors. For members, the tour is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. For non-members, $10 per adult and $5 for children under 12. Register online here.
