A tornado watch for Montgomery County until 10:00 p.m.

The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety has announced that a tornado watch has been issued for Montgomery County and a large part of the Philadelphia region. It is in effect until 10:00 p.m. pm tonight.

A tornado watch is issued when weather conditions can produce thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. A tornado warning is issued when a tornado has been spotted or weather radar indicates one is active.

With a warning, there is imminent danger to life and property. It is recommended to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows. If in a mobile home, a vehicle, or outdoors, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
