Ambler Farmers’ Market Place to be this Saturday!

If you follow Around Ambler, you probably know we are partial to the Ambler Farmers’ Market around here. We are there every Saturday, sure. We enjoy breakfast at the Trax Outdoor Farm-to-Table Cafe’, yes. We come home weekly with locally grown produce, locally brewed beer, breads, meats…yes, we cop to it. But partial? More like obsessed.

The market feeds this obsession this coming Saturday with some awesomeness coming in – Broccoli, Butternut Squash, Beets, Apples, Pears…and that’s just some of the produce.

Chef Steve Waxman at Trax Restaurant and Cafe’ has been smoking salmon for the past two weeks and serving it up with bagels and market tomatoes and other garnish at the Trax Outdoor Farm-to-Table Cafe’. This is only one of the carefully crafted breakfast dishes offered al fresco, with the busy market as your backdrop. Try an omelette or a house-smoked bacon BLT. Children’s options are also available.

J’s Gouramaze is putting on a live food show this Saturday as well. We wanted to tell you about it but only Jay can do it justice.

From the J’s Gouramaze Facebook Page:

ONCE AGAIN!!!! Master Celebrity Chef Jay Howard will make his G.reat F.lavors(NO GLUTEN)Stuffin’ Puffs using his special PAPER THIN stretch dough made WITHOUT wheat, barley, or rye RIGHT BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES and not only sell them to go but will sell them HOT to enjoy at the market! This dough, that took over three years to perfect, will allow those with a gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease to enjoy Chef Jay’s SIGNATURE Stuffin’ Puffs, Strudel Puffs, Pierogie Puffs, and Pizza Puffs just like everyone else and rivals Jay’s wheat based stretch dough in taste and texture! Just another example of how “food meets magic”! Mark your calendars and save the date! You will not want to miss this incredible event!

The market has a special musical guest this Saturday as well. Returning for his second performance, Ian Koteles.

Ian Koteles may be new to our area, but certainly no stranger to the stage. Ian’s love of music began very early on as he grew up idolizing his father’s singing, songwriting, and performing talents. However, it was not until he saw his youngest brother perform an eighth grade talent show that he picked up the guitar and taught himself to play. The rest, as they say, is history. Ian and his brother, Evan, formed the group 10th Concession. Writing, recording and touring from 2006 to 2012. Although not “together” today, Ian and Evan continue to write, record, and perform individually and always will.

There are actually more things going on – Local Spirits, Forest & Main Beer…you’re going to have to try it for yourself. Saturday – 9 am to 1 pm in the parking lot of Trax Restaurant and Cafe in Ambler.
