Ambler Farmers’ Market Saturday Teeming With Activity

This Saturday, the Ambler Farmers’ Market has lots going on.

Besides the obvious, fresh local produce and locally produced artisan goods, the Ambler Food Co-op, Mermaid Art Studios, Trax Restaurant & Cafe, the Wissahickon Valley Public Library, the Mattie N. Dixon Food Cupboard and Ambler Borough Council also play roles this Saturday in making the market the most Amblerist market is could possibly be. Counting the market, that’s 7 Ambler institutions. Talk about a COMMUNITY market!

The Ambler Food Co-op is manning the kid’s table, giving the little one’s something to do while you shop and then hear about what’s new and exciting with the Co-op and their potential partnership with Weavers Way!

At 10:30, Wissahickon Valley Library’s own Miss Michelle will be on hand for a story and sing-a-long for the children and any adult who may want to join in.

Also at 10:30 and Noon, Mermaid Art Studios will be offering art classes for the children – $12 gets them materials and a lesson. This week is pear painting! Pre-register for that at ben@gnrpastures.com.

Mattie Dixon Food Cupboard will be on hand all day to accept donations and to share information about the Cupboard. The Cupboard’s wish list is below.

Trax Restaurant’s Outdoor Farm-to-Table Cafe’ will be in full swing serving up delicious breakfast items for your culinary delight. Speaking of the Cafe’, Ambler Borough Councilman from Ward 3, Frank DeRuosi, will be having coffee and speaking to constituents from 9:30 to 11.

And, as mentioned before, food…fresh, local food. So if you are feeling especially Amblery on Saturday or are hungry for breakfast or want some strawberries…there is no better place to be than the Ambler Farmers’ Market!
