Shaykh Anwar Muhammad was reappointed as president of the Ambler branch of the NAACP on August 17.
According to The Reporter, Muhammad owns The Black Reserve Bookstore in downtown Lansdale and has counseled, mentored and worked with adjudicated youth in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Millersville University with a bachelor’s degree in communications, specializing in public relations.
“Shaykh Muhammad’s reappointment comes with the endorsement of his profound knowledge, extensive experiences, and expertise in community development, social change, and advocacy,” a spokesperson for the NAACP’s Ambler branch said in a statement. “His commitment to amplifying the voices of the marginalized and driving positive transformation is emblematic of his dedication to being a part of solutions rather than problems.”
