Ambler police to conduct probationary officer exam in November, applications available Sept 30

The Ambler Borough Police Department will be conducting a physical agility test and written exam on Saturday, November 2 at Wissahickon High School to establish a Civil Service list of applicants for the position of Probationary Police Officer.

Registration will begin at 7:30am and the Physical Agility Test will start at 8:00am followed by the written exam.

Preliminary applications can be obtained in person at the Ambler Borough Police Department or completed online by visiting Crimewatch.

Minimum Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be Act 120 Certified
  • Hold valid Pennsylvania Driver’s Licens
  • No arrests of a third-degree misdemeanor or higher
  • Able to physically perform the duties of a police officer
  • Live within 25 miles or move within 25 miles within 1 year

Preliminary applications will be accepted starting September 30, until 4:00pm on Tuesday, October 29. The applicants who pass both the physical agility and written tests will be required to complete a formal questionnaire at a later date, the department said.
