Ambler to consider amending the Transit-Oriented Development section of its zoning code

The Borough of Ambler’s Borough Council instructed its solicitor to draft an amendment to the existing Transit-Oriented Development section of its zoning code and a draft is now available for review. You can find it starting on page 21 of the recent council meeting agenda. You can find the current zoning pertaining to Transit-Oriented Development here (starting on page 230).

Transit-Oriented Development or TOD is zoning that encourages density around train stations and other transportation hubs.

The proposed ordinance will first go before the borough’s planning commission, which will decide whether to recommend it to the borough council. The council will make the determination as to whether to adopt the ordinance.

The next scheduled meeting of the planning commission is Tuesday, October 25th, however, the agenda will not be available until the day prior.
