Ambler’s Planning Commission recommends granting conditional use for a 92-unit apartment building on North Maple Street

On May 23rd, the Borough of Ambler’s Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend to the borough’s council that it approve a conditional use application involving a 92-unit apartment building at 9 North Maple Street. At a future meeting, the borough council will make a final determination on whether to grant the conditional use.

The applicant is Summit Realty Advisors, which has a history of redeveloping properties in the area of the train station. It renovated the boiler house building into office space and built the 114-unit apartment community The Crossings at Ambler Station (Disclosure – The Crossings is an advertiser on AroundAmbler.com).

On May 2nd, the borough council voted to amend the zoning code to allow this and similar developments around the SEPTA train station by conditional use.

More to come.
