Third graders at Blue Bell Elementary launched a new podcast series, Lunch with the Blue Sharks. The group meets during recess or PIE time once per week to develop and write their stories or produce their segment. The students record their segments, add transitions and produce the podcast using an online tool, audio.fm.

Topics have included Halloween recap, classroom project reviews, short story and poetry readings and assembly highlights.  Club Advisor and third grade teacher Theresa Deckebach says, ‘we are having excellent practice with listening, speaking, reading and writing through this club experience.”

The school’s Home and School Association purchased a microphone for the club to record their podcast. Since publishing their first episode in November, the podcast received more than 300 downloads. The newest episode is now available and anyone can listen here.
