Code Blue extended in Montgomery County through the morning of January 12th

The Montgomery County Commissioners have extended the current “Code Blue” Cold Weather Emergency for Montgomery County based on a review of forecasts from the National Weather Service.

The recent “Code Blue” started on Thursday, January 6th at 8:00 p.m. and was to end on Monday, January 10th at 8:00 a.m. It has now been extended to Wednesday, June 12th at 8:00 a.m. During this time, either the temperature or the wind chill is expected to be below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

A “Code Blue” Cold Weather Declaration is made in Montgomery County when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. A “Code Blue” is called when the combination of air temperature and the wind chill is anticipated to be 20ºF or less.
