Coronavirus deaths and PCR positivity rate low in Montgomery County

Montgomery County reports that there were 39 new cases of Coronavirus reported on August 11th and 40 new cases on August 12th. That brings the total number of cases in the county since the start of the pandemic to 10,056.

Among the 40 cases reported on August 12th were two from longterm care facilities and six from the county’s correctional facility.

No deaths were reported either day. The total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic remains at 823. There have been three confirmed deaths thus far in August.

The 14-day PCR positivity rate as of August 7th is 2.75. During the pandemic height in April it topped out at 28.36.

  • Ambler is at 155 cases, which is two more than since August 10th. There have been 16 deaths, which is no change
  • Lower Gwynedd is at 173 cases, which is one more than since August 10. There have been 35 deaths, which is no change
  • Upper Dublin is at 240 cases, which is 11 more than since August 10th. There have been 17 deaths, which is no change
  • Whitpain is at 169 cases, which is one more than since August 10th. There have been 14 deaths, which is no change
