Coronavirus numbers declining in Montgomery County

As of February 23rd, Pennsylvania reports that 74,228 people in Montgomery County have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The 14-day PCR positivity rate is 6.12% as of February 18th, down from 6.47% as of February 14th. Having this number at 5% or under is considered suppression of the virus.

Since February 19th, Montgomery County reports that there have been 443 new cases of Coronavirus in the county (see daily numbers in the graph below). This brings the total number of cases countywide since the start of the pandemic to 46,199.

The number of cases from the most recent 14 days has decreased by 1,014 versus the previous 14 days. Cases from the most recent seven days have decreased by 95 versus the previous seven days.

As of February 23rd, there are 140 patients in Montgomery County hospitals due to Coronavirus. This is down from 167 patients on February 19th, 174 on February 13th, and 252 on February 8th. There are currently 20 patients requiring a ventilator.

There have been five deaths due to Coronavirus reported between February 20th and February 23rd. This brings the total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic is 1,200.

  • Ambler is at 427 cases, which is one more than since February 19th. There have been 24 deaths, which is one more than since February 19th
  • Lower Gwynedd is at 543, which is six more than since February 19th. There have been 42 deaths
  • Upper Dublin is at 1,170 cases, which is 12 more than since February 19th. There have been 28 deaths
  • Whitpain is at 844 cases, which is nine more than since February 19th. There have been 22 deaths, which is one more than since February 19th
