  4. Celebrate Earth Fest with your friends, neighbors, and families at the Ambler Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) Earth Fest on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!  Our adult and family-friendly Earth Fest is back – after a two-year Covid hiatus –  bigger than ever, with both indoor and outdoor experiences, food, shopping, music, a native plant sale, children's activities, educational opportunities, giveaways, and more.

The theme of Ambler EAC Earth Fest 2022 is Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference. This fun free event for all ages will focus on how to live a more earth-friendly life, without sacrificing things you love to do, or having to pay for expensive measures. Learn about reusable, zero-waste alternatives that will reduce waste in our shopping habits, our kitchens, and even our bathrooms. Expert presentations include how to compost, how planting trees can offset your personal carbon footprint, and how to go solar.  Electric vehicles will be on-site to test drive along with their current EV owners who happily talk about their rides, and can advise on how to make the switch to a gasoline-free commute.  Poplar Ave will be closed down for the electric vehicle test rides with Drive Electric America and Ambler EV.

The parking lot of Ambler Borough Hall will feature outdoor vendors where you can shop for Earth-friendly goods and clothing, appreciate local eco-art with a message, grab a bite to eat in a fully compostable or recyclable container, and lounge in an Adirondack chair while listening to live music. Sweet Briar and others are offering vegetarian and vegan alternatives for lunch that may inspire you to start a meatless Monday routine. Of drinking age? Take home a few cans of the Earth Fest beer from Tannery Run brewed especially for the event.

Collins Nursery is hosting a native plants sale, and providing information about how our yards, gardens and other outdoor spaces can better support watershed health and local pollinators.

Come with your children. Ya Fav Trashman will read his new book about the importance of sanitation workers, the effects of litter and responsible ways to discard both waste and recyclables. Also, Wissahickon High School students will lead kids in fun, interactive science experiments, and other kid-friendly exhibits at Wahl Playground next to the parking lot.

Before you leave, make a pledge of what you intend to change to live more sustainably and be entered to win a tote bag full of reusable zero-waste products.

Plan to stay in town after visiting Earth Fest for local food and merchandise discounts around Ambler’s bustling downtown center.
