Freedom Songs: The Music of Black History

Join the Upper Dublin Public Library as they the present Freedom Songs: The Music of Black History, on Friday, February 10th. This program is part of the Art @ The Library Series.

Bright Star Theatre celebrates Black History Month in this entertaining musical review that spans continents, genres and centuries. Join energetic actors in this entertaining musical revue of the history of Black Music! From the work songs of slavery (“Hoe Emma Hoe”) and the hymns of the Underground Railroad (“Follow the Drinking Gourd”) to the blues of Beale Street and the anthems of the Civil Rights Movement, music has always been an integral part of our nation’s past. Fun for the whole family!

The program begins at 6:30 pm and goes until 7:30 and is for all ages.
