Nonprofits throughout the Ambler area are hosting a special networking event on Thursday, December 6th at Ambler Yards from 5pm-7pm.  If you are a leader (or aspiring leader) in the Ambler community and have the time, energy and passion to serve on a Nonprofit Board of Directors, they want to meet you.

The Ambler area is home to many diverse nonprofits such as the Inter-Faith Housing Alliance, the Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County (Montco SAAC), Pennypack Farm & Education Center, and the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund. Local charities such as these are in need of leaders in our community to serve on their respective Board of Directors.

Each nonprofit organization must recruit the board members it needs to ensure maximum impact. Nonprofit boards of directors typically comprise leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization’s mission.

Each and every charity organization needs a strong and effective board to fully realize its potential for good. In addition to the standard roles and responsibilities of a board member, board members must be active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the charity to advance its mission.

Through recreational, educational, and social programs at two locations in Montgomery County, our Centers involve, enrich, and empower adults 50 years of age or better to create and maintain independence in all phases of life. Our Meals on Wheels program is a natural extension of this belief, as our three programs allow over 350 homebound seniors in Montgomery county to remain safely and comfortably in the own homes.
