Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School to celebrate graduation on July 18th

Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School will hold its 159th Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2020 on Saturday, July 18th at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony was originally scheduled for May 30th but was postponed due to COVID-19 in the hopes that the 87 graduates would be able to celebrate together at a later date. Due to the ongoing restrictions, graduates are only permitted two parents or guests.

All of the graduates will be attending a four-year college or university in the fall, and 97% of the class members were awarded scholarships totaling nearly $19.8 million.

In the commencement tradition of Gwynedd Mercy, the graduates will wear long white dresses, full-length gloves, carry a dozen long-stemmed red roses, and receive graduation medals and diplomas. Added to the tradition for this year will be white face masks. This will be the first commencement to be held outdoors.
