Going into the 2020 general election, the Borough of Ambler had 4,547 registered voters. The election in the borough saw 3,767 ballots cast resulting in a turnout of 82.85%. Turnout in 2016 was 76.74% and 74.86% in 2012.
Ambler voters came out big for Democratic Party candidates on the November 3rd election. Democratic Party candidates won the majority of votes in every race on the ballot in the Borough of Ambler.

However, there are some interesting things to point out. Joe Biden improved on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 result by 477 votes. Donald Trump improved on his vote total from 2016 by 137.
In the second biggest race on the ballot, that to represent the vast majority of Montgomery County in the US House of Representatives, Biden outperformed the Democratic Party candidate, while Trump underperformed against the Republican candidate.

Incumbent Madeleine Dean (D) garnered 83 fewer votes than Biden. First-time candidate Kathy Barnette outperformed Trump by 77 votes.

If you look at all the other races, the pattern of overperforming and underperforming holds in all four races on the Democratic Party side. Trump was able to outperform the state candidates in three of the four races.
