Important Notice from Ambler Borough Police Department about Fireworks

In an effort to remind Ambler Borough residents of fireworks restrictions and policies and because of the many complaints filed recently, the Ambler Borough Police Department posted this notification:

ATTENTION AMBLER BOROUGH RESIDENTS!!!
It is illegal to discharged Fireworks within the borough limits
Residents are reminded of the following Pennsylvania restrictions for fireworks. Fireworks, and/or sparklers can cause fires, burns, dismemberment or death if handled improperly. Furthermore, the use and discharge of all display fireworks, including sparklers, is prohibited on all Borough property and parks. 
USE AND RESTRICTIONS 
• Fireworks cannot be ignited or discharged on a public or private property. 
• Fireworks cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building. 
• Fireworks cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building. 
• Fireworks cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure. 
• Fireworks cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or another drug. 
Ultimately, handling fireworks should be left to the professionals! Restrictions on fireworks are for a good cause. No matter how small or large fireworks may be, they are a potential fire starter. It is still possible to celebrate. Families can consult the newspaper or local activity calendar and attend one of several approved, licensed fireworks displays.
