Learn About the Weekly Nestbox Checks at Armentrout Reserve

Every Tuesday from May 15 to August 21st at 6:30 p.m., the Wissahickon Valley Watershed hosts walks to check several nestboxes in Armentrout Preserve to see what birds may be raising families in them.

On these free weekly walks, you will likely see the nests, eggs and fledglings of several species including House Wren, Tree Swallow and Eastern Bluebird. You may also have a chance to see a bird banding demonstration.

The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association reminds participants that:

  • Walks will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
  • Walks are free
  • Wear sturdy hiking shoes
  • Walks will be canceled for rain or thunderstorms
  • Registration is not required
  • Meet at the parking lot at Armentrout, on Beale Road, off Penllyn Blue Bell Pike (Map)
