Michael Esco Weldon, 29, of the 200 block of Maple Avenue in Lower Gwynedd Township has been sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of simple assault.

According to The Pottstown Mercury, a woman and her father were assaulted on September 13, 2022. The father was shot and wounded by a co-conspirator named Christopher Lee Sherman, who was previously sentenced to 5-10 years in prison for aggravated assault.

According to officials, Weldon and Sherman entered the woman’s residence and Sherman pointed a firearm at her head while screaming at her. The woman called 911 and her father, who Weldon and Sherman allegedly physically assaulted after he arrived.

Sherman then shot the woman’s father as the victim was running away.
