Lower Gwynedd police release details of Bethlehem Pike crash on Tuesday

The Lower Gwynedd Police Department have released the details of a Tuesday afternoon crash that shut down a portion of Bethlehem Pike.

According to The Reporter, the accident took place around 1:30pm on October 17. First responders were dispatched to North Bethlehem Pike and Fair Land Drive where a dump truck driver failed to lower the dump body when exiting the Spring House Nursery. The body of the truck brought down two utility poles after it got caught on power lines.

“Bethlehem Pike was closed between Cedar Hill Road and the Route 309 expressway for hours as first responders, PennDOT, and crews from PECO and Verizon worked to repair extensive damage to the poles and power lines. It has since reopened,” The Reporter wrote.

No injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
