The Lower Gwynedd Police Department released the report on this morning’s intruder at Wissahickon High School. It is as follows:

Spring House, PA— March 15, 2019 — At 7:25 AM, a student at Wissahickon Senior High School approached Lower Gwynedd Police School Resource Officer Beth Sanborn and reported seeing an unknown male sitting behind him on his school bus that he did not recognize and did not believe to be a student at the school. After giving a description the subject was located by SRO Sanborn inside the school in the area of the gymnasium. The subject later identified as Dominic Herder, 20 YOA, of Oreland was confronted by Sanborn and Wissahickon Administrators. Herder ran out of the school through the front doors and was caught after a brief foot chase in the parking lot of the Meadows Condominiums, located across from the high school on Houston Road.
It was later learned that Herder was intoxicated and walking home on Welsh Road when he happened upon a Wissahickon School Bus making a stop to pick up students. Herder boarded the bus in hopes of getting closer to home and took the bus to the Wissahickon High School where he exited the bus and entered the school. It was shortly after his entrance to the school that he was confronted and subsequently arrested. 
Lower Gwynedd Township Police Chief Paul Kenny stated, “I would like to recognize the student who saw something suspicious and immediately reported it to SRO Sanborn. This is a great example of the school administration, students and police all working together to proactively resolve a potentially hazardous situation.”
Herder faces trespass and other charges and is currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
