Lower Gwynedd’s Board of Supervisors adopted new policy related to hiring professional services

The Lower Gwynedd Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a policy resolution at the Monday, January 24th meeting. The new policy requires the board of supervisors to issue requests for proposals no less frequently than once every five years for professional services provided to the township.

Pennsylvania’s municipal law does not require the township to take this step. For example, the board of supervisors can hire its solicitor without going through an RFP process.

In the announcement, Danielle Duckett, chair of the board of supervisors, stated that the purpose of the resolution is to “establish a regularly reoccurring review of our contracts to ensure we’re getting the best services with the most consummate professionals.”
