On Sunday, April 23rd, the Ambler Theater is presenting the Royal Opera House’s Madama Butterfly. The showing begins at 12:30 pm. The film is subtitled.

East meets West with devastating consequences in Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier’s production of Puccini’s deeply poignant opera. Cio-Cio-San, the young Japanese bride of dashing American officer Lieutenant Pinkerton, finds her romantic idyll shattered when he deserts her shortly after their marriage. Antonio Pappano conducts an impressive cast led by Ermonela Jaho.

Tickets are $16 for members, $18 for non-members.
