Mermaid Lake redevelopment before Whitpain Township’s Planning Commission on February 11th

On the agenda for the February 11th meeting of the Whitpain Township Planning Commission are a conditional use application and preliminary subdivision application for the Mermaid Lake property in Blue Bell.

The property has served as a nine-hole golf course, swim club, event facility, and summer day camp. Metropolitan Development Group is seeking to construct 53 single-family homes on the property. The plan can be viewed here.

2. Review of the Conditional Use Application for the Mermaid Lake Cluster Subdivision.

3. Review of a preliminary subdivision application for the Mermaid Lake Cluster Subdivision (S4-19). This subdivision involves the construction of 53 new single-family homes on approximately 63.1 acres located at 1198 and 1002 Jolly Road. The property is zoned R-1 Residential Zoning District within the Park and Recreation Zoning Overlay.

The Planning Commission overs a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors on development applications.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at 960 Wentz Road in Blue Bell.
