Montgomery County sees five days of 70 cases or more of Coronavirus for first time since early June

Since our last update on October 23rd, Montgomery County’s COVID-19 data hub reports that there were 84 new cases of Coronavirus on October 24th, 72 on October 25th, and 89 on October 26th. These new cases bring the total countywide since the start of the pandemic to 13,360.

One death was reported over these three days (on October 26th). That brings the total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic to 838.

The 14-day PCR Positivity Rate as of October 16th is 2.28%. Having this number under 5% is considering having the virus under control.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health’s data hub shows that there are 60 hospitalizations due to Coronavirus in Montgomery County as of October 26th at noon. There are six patients who require a ventilator.

The number of cases from the most recent 14 days is 235 more than the 14-days prior. The most recent seven days is 180 more than the previous seven days.

Locally, here are the current numbers:

  • Ambler is at 184 cases, which is two more than since October 23rd. There have been 16 deaths
  • Lower Gwynedd is at 204, which is no change since October 23rd. There have been 35 deaths
  • Upper Dublin is at 366 cases, which is 13 more than since October 23rd. There have been 20 deaths
  • Whitpain is at 238 cases, which is six more than since October 23rd. There have been 15 deaths
