Reader Reports of Attempted Car Theft in Lower Gwynedd

An AroundAmbler.com reader wrote in to report about an attempted car theft from their driveway late last night.  The reader’s neighbors had their car stolen last week from their garage, and it was caught on video.  That same video camera caught the same tow truck in the reader’s driveway last night as a man in a mask and blue gloves was looking into their cars with a flashlight.

The reader writes:

Last night the same REPO truck pulled into our driveway and a man in a mask with blue gloves was looking into our cars w a flashlight (my neighbor has a very high tech camera that luckily catches what goes on in our driveway too). Fortunately, I woke up at this time and turned on our living room and kitchen lights. At that moment the camera catches the man being startled by the lights and jumping into the truck and driving away.

AroundAmbler.com had a chance to talk to the Lower Gwynedd Police who advise to lock your car doors, lock all house and garage doors and to bring your car keys inside.  The cars that have been reported stolen have all been unlocked, and some with the keys still in them.  The police also strongly urge you to report all suspicious vehicles and persons by immediately calling 911.
