Montgomery County officials announced today that there are 53 new cases of Coronavirus in the county, which includes 10 from long-term care facilities and one from the county’s correctional facility. The countywide total is now 6,015.

Also announced were seven additional deaths due to Coronavirus, which brings the total number of confirmed deaths due to Coronavirus to 536. Deaths tied to residents of long-term care facilities represent 469 of the 536 (88%). The current total number of probable deaths, those without a lab test, is 151.

The number of hospital patients in the county due to Coronavirus has risen from approximately 250 to 275. Approximately 25 percent of the patients are on a ventilator.

In regards to long-term care facilities, 94 facilities report that 1,716 residents and 625 staff members have reported a positive test result.

The county’s testing sites report that from April 16th to May 14th, they have tested 5,606 individuals, have tests back for 5,464, and 757 or 14 percent have tested positive.

The 14-day total of positive tests is 1,498 with a daily average of 101 based on the county’s data. The goal set by the governor is to have a 14-day daily average of 30. The county is currently off that pace by 71.

  • There have been 13 deaths overall in Ambler
• Lower Gwynedd is at 128, which is one more than yesterday
  • There have been 22 deaths overall in Lower Gwynedd
• Upper Dublin is at 143, which one more than yesterday
  • There have been 14 deaths overall in Upper Dublin
• Whitpain is at 104, which is one less than yesterday
  • There have been five deaths overall in Whitpain
