Upper Dublin School District reaches tenative contract agreement with district staff

The Upper Dublin Board of School Directors today announced a tentative agreement on a contract with the Upper Dublin Education Support Professionals Association, which represents over 190 administrative assistants, custodians, educational assistants, grounds crew members, maintenance personnel, mechanics, staff nurses, and transportation employees.

The current contract expires on June 30, 2022. According to the announcement, the tentative deal provides contract terms effective July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2027. The overall salary increases are 5.9% in year one, 4.8% in year two, 3.8% in year three, 3.0% in year four, and 2.6% in year five. The district believes that these increases will allow the school district to remain competitive in attracticing and retaining employees.

School Board President Dr. Darlene Davis said, “Members of our Board, UDESPA, and our administrative team worked collaboratively to reach this agreement. The process was collegial, with everyone working toward reaching an agreement that is good for our employees and respectful of our taxpayers.”

Dr. Steven Yanni, puperintendent of schools, commented, “We are pleased that the Board and UDESPA have reached agreement on a new contract. The negotiations team members worked diligently to develop a contract that will allow us to attract and retain great employees who support our students and our District.”

The Board of School Directors is scheduled to take action to approve the contract with UDESPA during its June 20th legislative meeting.
