Upper Gwynedd man sentenced for sexually assaulting a teenage girl

Sean James Collins, 23, of the 300 block of Lower Valley Road in Upper Gwynedd Township, was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in the county jail after admitting to sexually assaulting a teenager girl between June 2017 and December 2019.

Collins pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and corruption of a minor in connection with incidents that occurred at locations in Montgomery Township, North Wales, and Lansdale.

According to The Reporter, the girl was between the ages of 13 and 16 at the time of the assaults and Collins was between the ages of 17 and 20.

Collins will complete six years of probation consecutive to parole, meaning he will be under court supervision for about eight years. He also faces a lifetime requirement to report his address to state police in order to comply with Pennsylvania’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act, formally known as Megan’s Law.
