Vintage photos, postcards of Ambler’s Lucky Well Motel and Spring House’s Pike Restaurant

The Facebook group Abandoned, Old or Interesting Places – Eastern PA has shared vintage photos of the Lucky Well Motel in Ambler and the adjacent Pike Restaurant in Spring House.

The motel was located along Bethlehem Pike and the restaurant was located at 820 N. Bethlehem, according to the group’s posts.

The postcard above is estimated to have been made between 1930–1945. The image below is postmarked November 25, 1964.


Comments included memories of the Lucky Well Swim Club.

I always remember the gift shop there. They had the Mad Libs and Magic pen games. Hotel next door some great parties.

One of my Grandparent’s favorite places to eat. Drove by it the other day. They’re gone, but I have fond memories of eating there with them.

The building was demolished in 2022. The Goddard School of Spring House opened its place.
