Devante Ayquill Chance, 30, of Philadelphia has been sentenced to 4 to 23 months in the county jail for carrying a firearm without a license after Whitpain Township police discovered a loaded handgun in his vehicle during a traffic stop in November 2021.
According to The Pottstown Mercury, Chance pleaded guilty to a felony charge. He was ordered by a judge to complete four years of probation and 50 hours of community service as part of the sentence.
The incident took place on Skippack Pike near Butler Pike.
“The firearm was found to be fully loaded with a bullet in the chamber and an additional five rounds in the magazine,” officers wrote in the arrest affidavit.
