Whitpain Township closed on the Mermaid Lake property on August 7th and its public works crews have been preparing the property for public use.

The township anticipates allowing the public to access the property starting in mid-to-late September. Initially, the property will have mown trails and be available as passive open space. Residents will have access to mown trails once the property reopens and will be able to enjoy passive open space. The township will also be undertaking a process to engage the public on how the property should be used in the future.
