Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation (WEOF) Seeking New Board Members to Support Wissahickon School District

Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation (WEOF), a nonprofit charitable organization, is seeking new board members to support its mission of enhancing educational programs in the Wissahickon School District.

  • Founded in 1990, WEOF is an essential partner to the district. Through its fundraising efforts, WEOF provides learning grants to Wissahickon teachers that drive highly engaging instruction, activities and experiences for all students. Since it was founded, WEOF has provided more than $400,000 to enrich teaching and learning and further engage students in classroom and extra-curricular activities. Learning grants support a wide variety of programs in all subject areas ranging from music to math.The WEOF Board of Directors meets seven times during the school year and organizes two major fundraisers a year. Board members serve on a volunteer basis and do not need to be a resident of the Wissahickon School District.

    WEOF is seeking individuals from the Wissahickon school and area business community with skills/experience in the following areas:

    *       Fundraising

    *       Grants Writing

    *       Planned Giving

    *       Marketing /Public Relations

    *       Event Planning
