Wissahickon School Board to consider appointing new principal for Lower Gwynedd Elementary

The superintendent of the Wissahickon School District, Dr. James Crisfield, has announced that he has recommended Sue Kanopka as the next principal of Lower Gwynedd Elementary. The Wissahickon School District will consider the appointment during its meeting on Monday, November 2nd.

Kanopka has taught in the district for 17 years, which includes every grade kindergarten through fifth. For the past five years, she has also served as an instructional coach.

In the announcement. Dr. Crisfield stated:

She knows K-5 teaching and learning like the back of her hand, and is universally welcome into classrooms across the district by her colleagues for demo lessons or friendly pointers. As one colleague put it, it’s time we reap the investment we have made in Sue over the years, and that is spot on. She’s ready to take the next step, and I am confident you will see what all of us see and be more than pleased when she takes the helm at Lower Gwynedd.

If appointed, she will begin serving as principal on January 4th.
