Wissahickon schools to close early Friday so teachers can plan for “At Home Learning”

The Wissahickon School District has announced that it will have an early dismissal on Friday, March 13th to allow teachers to plan for “At Home Learning” if that becomes necessary due to the Coronavirus.

Below is the announcement:

As you are well aware, we continue to monitor the on-going developments associated with COVID-19. One of the very real possibilities is that schools may need to be closed in the not too distant future for an extended period of time. In the event that this becomes a reality, we need to be prepared to provide our students with the opportunity to continue their learning at home.

In order to provide our teachers the necessary time to plan for these “At Home Learning” activities, all Wissahickon schools will operate on an early closing schedule tomorrow – Friday, March 13.

Dismissal Times:

* 11:00 AM – WMS
* 11:05 AM – WHS
* 11:50 AM – Elementary Schools

We appreciate your continued support as we navigate this matter in real time.

We will provide an update as necessary.
