Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club Held its 22nd Annual Dinner With Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz

The North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club hosted its annual Celebration of Children and Youth Dinner on Monday, May 21st at the William Penn Inn in Gwynedd. More than 300 guests, club trustees, and club members gathered for the evening for this event that celebrated the supporters and members of the Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club in Ambler, the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club in Lansdale and the Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club in Souderton.

Founded by a handful of Lansdale families in 1966, the Boys & Girls Club has grown to serving 3,000 children and teens each year in three Clubhouses in Ambler, Lansdale and Souderton, with nearly 50 educational, recreational and character-building programs. The clubs also offer Project Learn, a free homework assistance program, in five locations, as well as summer camps.

The keynote speaker at Monday night’s event was Philadelphia Eagle and member of Super Bowl LII team, Carson Wentz. The moderator for the event was Voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, Merrill Reese.

“The Celebration of Children & Youth is an opportunity for us to recognize and acknowledge the hard work and dedication brought to the Club each year by our Board of Directors, youth membership, staff, and volunteers,” said Robert K. Kreamer, Chief Executive Officer of the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club.

Whitpain Township Manager, Roman Pronczak, presented a Wentz Road sign to Carson Wentz.

Kim Flores of the Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club will graduate from Wissahickon High School this spring,  and was awarded the Capps Family Scholarship, the Decembrino Family Scholarship, the Hankin Scholarship, and the Kreamer Scholarship.  Kim also received an iPad from the Detwiler Family of Scatton’s Heating and Cooling.  Also honored as  Youth of the Year was Nicole Scarpaci of the Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club. Additionally, Ryan Lare, a senior at North Penn High School and a member of the football team, was awarded the Shawn Clark Scholarship.

A Community Spirit Award was given to local business, Bradford White Corporation which is located in Ambler.
