Ambler’s Restaurant Weekend is being held this weekend from Friday, July 24th through Sunday, July 26th. Due to the pandemic, Ambler Borough obtained PennDOT’s approval to close Butler Avenue in the downtown area and restaurants will be allowed to put tables out on the street.
Today, Ambler Borough issued some guidelines on what is allowable. As you will see there is a concern that attendees will treat the event like the events historically allowed on Butler Avenue during non-pandemic times.
Notice to all participating in Restaraunt week, we want it to be a safe and enjoyable experience for all so we are asking that the required dining rules and safety measures are followed.
Thank You.
Ambler Restaurant Weekend is July 24th-26th!THIS IS NOT AMBLER MUSIC FEST AND STRICTLY A DINING EVENT ONLY
As you know the Borough is closing Butler Avenue Friday night July 24th by 5:00pm, and leaving it closed until Sunday July 26th to allow for more outdoor dining for Borough restaurants. This an opportunity to support Borough restaurants to increase their dining availability in these troubled times. Below is what you need to know as a restaurant owner:
• THIS IS NOT AMBLER MUSIC FEST or OCTOBERFEST
• There will be no vendors, no outdoor music or performers, no bands on stages, no food trucks.
• There will be no open containers permitted or patrons congregating outside of businesses not adhering to the CDC guidelines and recommendations for social distancing. Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is aware of this event and violations may put a restaurant’s liquor license at risk.
• The only thing the Borough is allowing is for the shutting down vehicular traffic and allowing restaurants to add tables for dining only for the weekend.
• Butler Avenue will be closed from Short Street to Lindenwold Avenue. York Street will be closed; Main Street will be closed from Short Street to the entrance of the Septa lot. Ridge Avenue, Spring Garden Avenue, Race Street and Poplar Avenue will all be open for thru traffic. As are the municipal lots to remain open.Any violation of the above may exclude a restaurant from participating for the remainder of the weekend and possibly ruin it for future street closure events during these hectic times. The Borough takes the health, safety, and welfare of its residents, visitors, employees, and business staff / owners seriously and any offenses of the above will be taken seriously.
Working together the Borough hopes to evaluate this event and its success largely depends on patrons behaving and all adhering to proper social distancing. The Borough hopes with all your help this will be a successful event.

So behave yourself!
