Volunteers
Volunteer support from the residents, staff and businesses of our community is vital for this community celebration to be successful. Volunteers are needed for site set-up, directing participants, monitoring activities, and site clean-up.
Please consider helping as we continue to celebrate all that is GOOD in UDT!
To coordinate volunteers, we’re using SignUp (the leading online SignUp and reminder tool).
Here’s how it works in 3 easy steps:
- Click this link to see our SignUp
 - Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you’d like.
 - Sign up! It’s easy – you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.

Note: SignUp does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact Tammy Echevarria to sign up manually.
Fireworks tips for pet owners
Information originated from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) and the American Kennel Club (AKC)
- Do not take your pets to fireworks shows, and do not leave them outside during fireworks.
- Keeping your pets inside on the evening of the fireworks is the best idea.

 - Make sure your pet is wearing proper ID.
- Ensure that the information on your pet’s collar is current.

 - If your pet has a fear of or aversion to loud noises:
- Something as simple as turning on some soft music and moving your pet into an interior room with no windows can be helpful.
 - An anxiety vest may work in some cases—if you don’t have one, try a snugly-fitting t-shirt.
 - Provide your pet with familiar toys and treats.

 - If your pet is on anti-anxiety medication, there are a few things to remember:
- First and foremost, give a practice dose of the medication before the big night to see how your pet responds to the medication.
 - Second, never share the medication with another pet or give more than the recommended amount.

 - Check in on your pets and help to comfort them.
- Remain calm and use a soothing, even tone. Long, slow, firm petting along the length of their body can be helpful.
 - Avoid being frantic in any way (ex: saying “It’s OK, it’s OK, it’s OK” in a rapid manner or a higher-than-average pitch).

 - Walk your dogs before the fireworks begin.
