157 employees of CVS Health’s Aetna office in Blue Bell are being laid off as part of a corporate-wide restructuring, The Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

Layoffs will take place between October 21 and December 30, and are mostly health insurance-related positions in areas such as project management, data services, complaint and appeals, and network relations services.

The office at 1425 Union Meeting Road will remain open.

“Our industry is evolving to adapt to new consumer health needs and expectations,” CVS said in a statement provided to the Business Journal. “As part of an enterprise initiative to reprioritize our investments around care delivery and technology, we must take difficult steps to reduce expenses. This unfortunately includes the need to eliminate approximately 5,000 non-customer facing positions across CVS Health.… Throughout our company’s history, we’ve continuously adapted to market dynamics to lead the industry. The difficult decision we are making will set the company up for long-term success.”
