Tyrell Marquise Dixon, 34, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 4 to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault in connection with a domestic-related altercation in the Glenside section of Upper Dublin Township on November 11, 2022, Mainline Media News reported.
According to reports, Dixon’s victim suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds to the arm and thigh outside of a residence in the 3100 block of Walnut Avenue in Upper Dublin.
Upon arrival, Upper Dublin police found a man leaning against a vehicle and suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm above his elbow. The victim told police he was in the area to pick up his children at their mother’s residence when he was shot by the woman’s new boyfriend, identified as Dixon.
The victim said he saw Dixon approaching his vehicle before the shooting began.
“The male (Dixon) did not say anything, reached into his waistband, grabbed a small handgun, pointed it at him and fired approximately four to six shots at him,” court documents said. “(The victim) explained that he had moved around in different directions attempting to avoid being struck by the fired rounds. (The victim) was struck in the upper left arm above his elbow as well as grazed by a round on his inner right thigh.
Dixon then fled the scene before and was later taken into custody by police without incident, Mainline Media said.
Dixon was sentenced in county court to 6 to 23 months in the county jail in 2016 after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of firearms not to be carried without a license in connection with an October 7, 2015, incident in Abington Township.
