Ambler man arrested for soliciting sexual acts and nude/sexually explicit photos from a Willow Grove juvenile

The Abington Township Police Department announced today the arrest of Deren Thach, 38, of Ambler, for soliciting sexual acts and nude/sexually explicit photos from a juvenile resident of Willow Grove.

According to the report, the investigation began in December 2025 after Abington police received information regarding a male suspect’s solicitation of the above crimes. The investigation also revealed that there were other female juvenile victims, police said.

A search warrant was executed at Thach’s apartment in Ambler on March 6. Digital evidence was seized and analyzed for Child Sexual Assault Material (CSAM) as well as other evidence of his crimes, police said. Based on the analysis’ findings, a warrant was issued.

On March 12, 2026, Thach turned himself into Abington police and was arraigned with bail set at $100,000.00 cash. He was charged with several counts of Sexual Abuse of Children as well as Corruption of Minors, and Unlawful Contact with a minor, all felony offenses.

The ongoing joint investigation includes the Ambler Borough Police Department and the Warwick Township Police Department.
