The Abington Township Police Department announced today the arrest of Deren Thach, 38, of Ambler, for soliciting multiple juvenile females for sexual acts and nude/sexually explicit photos and videos in Willow Grove.
According to the report, the investigation began in December 2025 after Abington police received information regarding a male suspect’s solicitation of the above crimes. The investigation also revealed that there were other female juvenile victims, police said.
On March 6, a search warrant was executed at Thach’s apartment in the Ambler section of Lower Gwynedd Township. Digital evidence was seized and analyzed for Child Sexual Assault Material (CSAM) as well as additional evidence of his crimes, police said. A warrant was issued and Thach was charged with several counts of Sexual Abuse of Children as well as Corruption of Minors, and Unlawful Contact with a minor, all felony offenses.
On March 12, Thach turned himself into Abington police. He was arraigned by District Justice Jodi Griffis who set bail at $1,000,000.00 cash.
Following his arrest, police identified eight additional minor victims.
On June 2, Thach was arrested at his residence in Ambler. He was charged with numerous violations of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, including the felony offenses of Rape, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Corruption of Minors, Sexual Abuse of Children/Possessing Child Sexual Assault Material, Statutory Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault, and Trafficking in Individuals.
In total, Thach was charged with 161 felony counts and 16 misdemeanor counts, police said. On June 3, Thach was arraigned by District Justice Juanita Price who set bail at $1,000,000.00 cash.
The investigation was conducted jointly by the Abington Township Police Department, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the Warwick Township Police Department, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Assistance was also provided by the Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department and the Ambler Borough Police Department.
