After being postponed due to the Labor Day holiday on September 4, First Friday is returning to Ambler on Friday, September 11. Over 40 shops, restaurants and local businesses will line Butler Avenue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event features new food truck vendors and a live musical performance from local band, The Sipsters, near Ambler Savings Bank. The event will be Ambler’s last First Friday of the 2026 season.

Food is available between Ridge Hall and Lindenwold Avenue and at any of Ambler’s restaurants. Visitors can try meals from restaurants like Char Lobster Rolls or food trucks like Pierogi Kitchen. Ambler’s open-container ordinance will also be lifted during First Friday.

The corner of Lindenwold and Butler Ave is a free “Kid’s Zone.” The Kid’s Zone features crafts, games and bounce castles. Children’s entertainment will also be provided, with magician demonstrations from A to Z Magic and balloon animal making from Rainbows and Unicorns.

To prepare for the festival, Butler Avenue will close in the midafternoon. Ambler Main Street recommends that commuters avoid Butler and Ridge Avenues. Drivers can use Race Street to travel west and South Main Street, Rosemary Avenue and Park Avenue if going east.

Festivities continue on Saturday, September 12. Beginning at 11 a.m., a puppy parade will stroll down Ridge Avenue for Ambler Main Street’s Dog Days of Summer. Participants can enter their dogs for awards like “Most Creative Name” and “Best in Show.” Registration for the parade and contest is available at Rita’s Water Ice.
