Alpha & Omega Logistics Corp in Ambler ceased operations on January 10 after its contract with Amazon was axed, The Philadelphia Business Journal reported yesterday.
In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor, it said the closure was due to “unforeseeable business circumstances.”
The contract was terminated by Amazon over a breach of contract for minor infractions regarding a seatbelt and a horn malfunction, according to Alpha & Omega founder Peter Kyriakodis.
Founded in August 2020, Alpha & Omega was among the top 20% of delivery service partners in safety, reliability, and quality, The Journal said.
110 workers have been impacted. The workers at Alpha & Omega Logistics were not represented by a union, according to the state filing.
