Ambler Beer Company and Well Crafted Beer Company teamed up to brew the Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout

Ambler Beer Company, located at Ambler Yards, and Well Crafted Beer Company of Lansdale recently joined forced to release Black Is Beautiful Imperial Stout.  The joint release is part of the international effort organized by Weather Souls Brewing Company that has breweries around the world raising awareness for the injustices people of color face.

Brewers Doug Buddle of Ambler Beer Company and Rick Solomon of Well Crafted Beer Company worked together to plan and brew this beer in support of the local community. They worked with suppliers such as Brewers Supply Group and Blue Label Digital to donate ingredients and packaging components in order to keep the cost of the beer as low as possible.

Solomon shared that “This was a perfect opportunity to collaborate with another local brewery to create a beer to support a great cause.”

“The past few months have been difficult on so many fronts and when this collaboration was initiated by Weathered Souls, it was the perfect opportunity to take action,” said Buddle. “The history of beer is centered around creating community, and that’s what this initiative is about, taking a stand in our local community. At the end of the day, this is much bigger than the beer.”

100% of the profits will be donated to the African American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia, which has a mission is to promote the vision, the voice, and the value of black business ownership in the Delaware Valley.

In statement, the chamber shared:

The African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE (AACC) is excited to partner with Well Crafted Beer Company and Ambler Beer Company on the launch of their Black Is Beautiful brew. COVID-19 has severely impacted the food and accommodation services industries, especially Black-owned businesses. From this generous contribution, the AACC will dedicate a portion of the Black Is Beautiful proceeds to support an AACC member in the food and beverage industry. Applications will soon open for AACC members to apply for relief funding. It is through the support of partners such as the Well Crafted Beer Company and the Ambler Beer Company that this opportunity is possible. You can support this and other AACC initiatives by purchasing the Black Is Beautiful Imperial Stout and by donating to the African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE Foundation.

The Black Is Beautiful Beer can be purchased for $21 in 4-packs of 16oz cans from either brewery. It can be purchased at https://linktr.ee/amblerbeercom and www.toasttab.com/wellcraftedbeer.
