Ambler Borough 2018 Budget and Council Meeting Tonight

There is an Ambler Borough Council meeting tonight at 7pm at Ambler Borough Hall, with a 2018 Budget Meeting to be held beforehand at 6pm.

Some of the things being discussed at tonight’s meeting are:

  • The Borough Engineer’s review of the storm water plans for proposed St. Mary’s development. The plan shows 25 townhome clusters and 16 twin home clusters for a total of 104 new residential homes.  A 196,683 square foot senior living center is also proposed.  Gilmore and Associates, the engineer and consulting firm reviewing the proposed plans, states in their review: ” that it appears that the Mattison Estates Development will not result in an increase stormwater flow to the Borough of Ambler.”  (See plans below) More details, including the full review will be discussed at tonight’s meeting.

  • The Borough’s cable franchise renewal is currently being negotiated
  • The Parking Committee will discuss parking plan and meter options.
  • The application for a zoning hearing on January 4, 2018 at 7pm, for the Ambler Library will be reviewed. The proposed changes include: relocating the main entrance in order to provide an ADA accessible ramp and access, and expansion of the library building.
  • The DCNR recreation and grant program has awarded Ambler Borough $102k , development of Ambler Pocket Park, Ambler Borough. Work is to include: construction of a plaza, pedestrian walkway, and stormwater management among others.
  • The Borough has received a Growing Greener Grant from the DEP in the amount of $206,100 – the scope of the grant includes: rain gardens, rain barrels, riparian buffer, steep slope and planters.
