Ambler Borough Council Meeting Tonight

There is an Ambler Borough Council meeting tonight at 7pm at Borough Hall ( 131 Rosemary Ave.)  Some of the things on tonight’s agenda are:

Public Utilities:

  • Public Utilities Committee members and staff will meet with the Harrisburg Public Utilities Committee and the Borough Solicitor later this month to discuss operations options and the logistics of forming a water authority.
  • Voluntary PFAS water testing of the distribution system occurred August 16, 2018.  Lab results for PFOA and PFOS have been received from Eurofins.  The highest total result of PFOA + PFOS from the 2018 samplings is less than one-fourth (25%) of the 70 parts per trillion (ppt) U.S. EPA health advisory.

Finance and Planning:

  • An executive session was held to discuss a FEMA acquisition grant. A vote was held to approve a 23k grant match per property that the Borough will acquire. 7-aye, 1-nay ( Mrs. Tomlinson)
  • Borough departments will investigate ways for the Borough to include sustainable energy practices and recommend cost saving improvements to the 2019 budget.
  • The Borough has received a Zoning Hearing Application of Forest & Main Brewing Co. for the real property located at 61 N. Main Street Ambler, PA requesting to have outdoor storage facilities in the Downtown Commercial Zoning District.  The Zoning Hearing Board of the Borough of Ambler will conduct a public hearing on October 4, 2018 at 7pm at Ambler Borough Hall.

Parks and Recreation:

  • The Committee is looking into various “Friends of Park” programs to gather information and possible program guidelines for Ambler Parks.  The Committee will evaluate the survey results and make recommendations.
