The Borough of Ambler is moving toward acquiring a small parking lot with approximately 25 spaces at 24 West Butler Avenue. The lot has been owned by the Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority since 1978, and the borough has been leasing it to use as a public parking lot.
During its December 15, 2025, meeting, the borough council voted unanimously to accept the agreement of sale. The price, which wasn’t mentioned, is based on a third-party appraisal, which is the price the redevelopment authority must sell the property for. A January closing is expected.
Borough Manager Kyle Detweiler stated during the meeting that the borough can apply for government grants to cover the cost of the acquisition of land.
